Are You Dancing In Sin?
Many of us are careful about committing “big” sins – sins that are
visible or that can directly affect someone else. However without
conviction we may commit “little” sins.
We may not commit fornication, homosexuality, adultery or murder – but we have no problem watching it on TV.
We may not prostitute ourselves, but we will sure wear shoes, clothes, and ornaments that identify with someone who does. Some of us will boldly wear outfits that scream deliberate seduction and defend it with statements such as “God looks at the heart, not our clothes” all the while being ignorant of the fact that what we manifest on the outside is a direct reflection of the heart (Mark 7:21-23).
We may not lie, but our speech is full of exaggeration and misleading.
We may not rob a bank, but we will steal time from our employer, someone’s idea or fail to give credit where credit is due.
We may even do something good like contribute time and dedication to ministry, encourage folk on FB, but then neglect our families.
These “little” sins and conformities have one mission. They are darts and wiles to keep us Dancing In Sin. Let’s learn about it and talk about it so that we can be about it!

Becoming Consecration - Introduction
This Month we are focusing on Becoming Consecration. Please be enriched by these teachings about Dance Ministry that will empower you and encourage you to walk faithfully before God and to be consistent and committed to what God has called you to do. Also join us every 4th Monday for Praise Dance Talk! Please click here for more information.
God has called us to be different and to lift up the standard of His holiness no matter what the present day trends are. Our response and resistance to what the world highly esteems affects the weight, strength and impact of our ministry and personal relationship with the Lord. The knowledge along with obedience about becoming consecration or the reminder of this truth will remove every sin and weight that is disrupting unity amongst the brethren and hindering us from advancing the Kingdom.
In this teaching you will learn
•What it means to be chosen?
•Our response to being chosen
•Our work as the chosen

God Calls The Faithful
2Timothy 2:2
I just want to take a moment out to encourage you today...
Be encouraged my sisters and be empowered in truth. God has called each and every one of us to serve Him and each other. God does not require skill or knowledge as a prerequisite for service in the kingdom. All that is required is faithfulness. Paul said commit what you have heard to faithful men. Not to skillful, talented or knowledgeable men. All these are good, but not first. God will add to us all we need to accomplish what He called us to do as long as we continue to be faithful.
God bless you,

Dependency Issues in Dance Ministry
Dependency Issues in Dance Ministry
In this teaching we are going to learn how to combat
dependency issues in Dance Ministry. 2Timothy 2:15 teaches the biblical
principle of diligence. Diligence requires persistent action. The action in
this scripture is the action of studying.

4 Basic tips for Praise Dancing with the Praise and Worship Team or Choir
Praise dancing with the Praise and Worship Team or Choir can be difficult and intimidating. For most of us, we find that a best practice for this kind of dance is to refrain from choreographing it. The reason for this is because the praise and worship team may not sing it exactly the same as the original choir or worship composer. Also, as they are led, they may change the words a little or a lot. They may also skip parts, focus on only one part and etc. The important thing I want to teach you is for you to know your choir and praise team. Get and understanding of how to flow with them. Know their quirks, their mannerisms vocally and as a worship leader. Know their signature style! This will help you predict what may come next and how to prepare for it as you minister along with them.

How to deal when leadership changes in Dance Ministry?
Dance ministry is composed of many different spiritual
gifts, natural talents and know-hows. Serving in dance ministry for many years
afforded me the privilege to sit under, train, and glean from some pretty incredible
people. One thing I have noticed is that each and every one of them taught me
with the ability God gave them. Noticing this taught me how to respect the
teaching styles of others. I understood, at that season of my life that I
needed that particular teaching in the style that it was taught. I bless God
for that.

What Certifies You As A Liturgical Dance | Praise Dance Minister?
Someone asked me, "What certifies a person as a liturgical dance minister or leader?" They wanted to know if they needed to take a class, become apart of a network, get a certificate from someone who is well known in the liturgical dance community and the like. The answer to the question is really none of the above. However, the above are helpful and they are set in place to increase our learning. We should all go through some type of discipleship pertaining to the Ministry of Dance. These schools and ministries, I believe, exists because they are founded upon a biblical principle. That is to train up in order to send forth. Jesus did it. He chose 12 who would be able to evangelize, disciple and train others in the same task. He then turned them loose to disciple the nations! I am taking a couple right now! But to answer to the question, as servants of God, in order to be certified as a Liturgical Dance Minister all one really needs is simply a relationship with God coupled with a persons experience received from blooming where God has planted them.

The Over-Spiritualizing of Praise Dance Ministry
Serving in Dance Ministry and being a student of God's Word has bibically put Praise Dance Ministry in proper perspective. For years I over spiritualized Praise Dance Ministry. I did this out of sincere ignorance.
In this post, and in posts to follow, I want to share with you the error of over-spiritualizing Dance Ministry. Over-spiritualizing something simply means to take that thing (concept, action, knowledge) and understand it or treat it beyond what Scripture teaches. Sometimes we value our experiences, convincing coincidences or personal convictions over the Word of God. Our experiences or personal beliefs are relative, certainly not authoritative, subjective, and ever changing. It is important, especially in this ministry, to understand that God's Word is the final authority and our beliefs and experiences must fall in line with it.

SAP Your Technique!
Praise dancing for many years taught me…well, more like forced me to be creative. I mean, how many times can one recycle an expressive movement in their dance? Since I did not have the opportunity or time to learn different forms of secular dance (not implying that this is necessary, but it can be helpful), I was forced to adopt what I call SAP into my discipline.

Be QUIET and SOTP it already! Teaching Praise Dance | Liturgical Dance To Kids.
Let’s face it! Children are loud, emotional, energetic, goofy and
curious. I get that, but how can we calm them down to teach them?
One thing that I am learning is to allow them to participate in the process. When I first started in Youth Ministry, there was a lot of yelling, over talking, and frustration. Not the kids mind you, but me. I would yell at them, over them, to them; just yell in every which way possible to exert authority over them.

Error of Self Promotion - Looking for Opportunities in Ministry
Why You Should NOT Promote Your Ministry
Ministry affords us many opportunities. These opportunities come to us, often times, when we are not looking for them because it is proof that God’s Word is true. Our gift will surely make room for us (Prov. 18:16). Our gift is the key to the fulfillment of our purpose. It is not our education, our money, social status, or hook-ups as our society so adamantly believes. It is our gift and God has given each and every one of us at least one. Work what your Father gave you!Tuesday, May 28, 2013
Help! I God has called me to Dance Ministry, but I am not trained in the dance...what am I supposed to do?
I get this question a lot and of course I always answer back in the comment section. However this time I think it is necessary to post my answer in a blog post so that many with the same question can be encouraged by it.

Are we transformed by struggling or we are transformed by striving?
A question was posed on Face Book to a small group that I have decided to be blessed by and contribute to: Topic: Are we transformed by struggling or we are transformed by striving? In writing a response I was encouraged and as a result I am posting it here to encourage you. Are we transformed by struggling or we are transformed by striving? Based upon the teachings and examples of Scripture we are transformed by both. It seems to me that they work together like faith and works (1Peter 4:12-19). We can’t have one without the other.

Significance of Colors In The Bible - Praise Dance Ministry
December 16,2008
This
post is a response to a very good question about the Biblical
significance of colors. When looking for the Biblical significance of
colors the worst thing that we can do is over spiritualize it. There are
some colors that the Bible describes which have a specific
significance, but it is important to understand that all colors
represent the glory of God.
